Meet Captain Matt Hilliard
Hey everybody, I’m Captain Matt Hilliard, owner of Daybreaker Inshore Charters right here in St. Petersburg, Florida.
6th generation local fisherman, born and raised chasing these tides. My family has worked Tampa Bay down to Charlotte Harbor for generations. I grew up commercial fishing with my dad — that’s real roots you can’t buy.
I started this outfit because I got tired of big operations rushing folks through half-baked trips. That’s why I keep my 22-foot boat small — so you get personal attention instead of being herded around.
I know these waters like the back of my hand: the flats off Fort De Soto, mangroves at Weedon Island, and tides around the Skyway and Boca Ciega Bay. Whether you’re after slot redfish, snook tight to the structure, or big trout on the grass, I’ll put you on fish.
USCG licensed and insured — safety first, always. Families, kids, beginners, or serious anglers — I tailor every trip to you.
